The Department of Microbiology at GRAPHIC ERA (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY), Dehradun, India has officially signed an Academic and Research Exchange Agreement with Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora (ITSON), Mexico. This landmark agreement aims to enhance educational and cultural exchange opportunities for students while promoting general academic linkages between the two esteemed institutions.
The agreement was finalized during a virtual signing ceremony, where representatives Prof. Narpinder Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), India and Dr. Jesús Héctor Hernández López, Rector, ITSON, México discussed the mutual benefits of collaboration in Microbiology research and education. The Under the terms of the agreement, a Student Exchange Program will be established, allowing students from both universities to experience different academic environments and cultures.
The initiative was taken under the guidance of Prof. D. R. Gangodkar, Dean, International Affairs, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun. Dr. Anju Rani, Head of the Department of Microbiology at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, will coordinate the initiative alongside Dr. Debasis Mitra, Assistant Professor, with the support of Prof. Ashish Thapliyal, a senior faculty member in the department. From the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora, Prof. Sergio de los Santos Villalobos will oversee the program, ensuring a smooth exchange of students and resources.

The Student Exchange Program is expected to facilitate joint research projects, Bachelor/ Master student’s internships for laboratory work (2-6 months), curricular activities (courses, exams, seminars, laboratory work), workshops, and seminars, enriching the academic experiences of participants and contributing to the global scientific community.
