Launch your career with our M.Tech program. Experienced faculty, hands-on learning, and industry connections.
Graphic Era Deemed to be University has established valuable collaborations with leading companies in the field of structural engineering. These partnerships provide students enrolled in the university’s structural engineering program with the opportunity to gain practical experience in the industry. The placement cell of the university is actively involved in connecting students with top organizations in the structural engineering sector. Consequently, a significant number of students secure internships and placements in prestigious organizations in the field. The primary objective of the university is to offer a comprehensive approach to structural engineering education, emphasizing practical application. This is accomplished through well-established connections in industry by organizing site visits, internships, and challenging projects that allow students to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. These opportunities provide students with the skills and experience necessary to excel in their future careers in structural engineering.
Structural engineering has become an increasingly important field in recent times, as the world’s infrastructure continues to grow and demand for safer, more resilient structures continues to rise. As a result, there are many career opportunities available for those with a background in structural engineering. Popular job roles in this field include:
The M.Tech in Structural Engineering program curriculum is designed to provide students with the advanced knowledge and practical skills required to analyze, design, and construct complex structures. The program is divided into four semesters. In the early semesters, students are introduced to a set of core courses and advanced structural analysis, reinforced concrete and steel design, and finite element methods. They also delve into advanced topics such as foundation engineering, earthquake-resistant design, and structural dynamics. These courses focus on designing structures that can withstand natural disasters and extreme weather conditions. The later semesters include specialized courses such as advanced concrete technology, design of tall buildings, and repair and rehabilitation of structures.
The course also consists of electives and a thesis project. Students are required to undertake a project on a topic related to Structural Engineering under the guidance of a faculty member. The research project allows students to apply the concepts and principles learned in the course to real-world problems. Throughout the program, students are also exposed to various computer applications and software such as ANSYS, STAAD Pro, and ETABS, which are widely used in the field of structural engineering. The program also includes laboratory and fieldwork components to provide practical experience to students. The university’s well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment allow students to perform tests on materials and structures, while fieldwork enables them to apply their knowledge in site investigation, foundation design, and construction techniques. Elective courses offered to students to allow them to specialize in specific areas of structural engineering such as bridge engineering, advanced pre-stressed concrete design, advanced structural dynamics, non-linear analysis of structures, wind engineering, and structural health monitoring and helps students tailor their training experience to their desired career path.
