VLSI Design and System is a highly promising field for career growth due to its relevance in the rapidly evolving electronics industry
Some of the job roles in the VLSI Design and System field include:
M.Tech (VLSI Design and System) is divided into four semesters. The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components, with a focus on advanced topics such as Digital Design and Synthesis, Analog Design, Computer-Aided Design, etc.
In early semesters, students are introduced to the fundamentals of digital design, which includes topics such as Boolean algebra, combinational and sequential logic, and computer organization. They also learn about analog and mixed-signal circuits, which are essential components of modern electronic systems. They are also introduced to advanced topics in digital design, such as high-speed digital circuits, advanced memory technologies, and FPGA-based systems. Students also learn about the design and testing of digital systems, including simulation, verification, and synthesis. In later semesters, the focus shifted toward analog and RF circuit design, which includes topics such as device modeling, circuit simulation, and layout design. Students also learn about the principles of communication systems, signal processing, and power management. Students also gain hands-on experience in VLSI design and systems. They undertake a project that involves the design and development of an electronic system from scratch. This involves various stages, including system specification, design, simulation, verification, and testing.
Electives are an important part of the M.Tech in VLSI Design and System program, as they allow students to specialize in specific areas of interest. Students are offered a range of electives, including digital signal processing, semiconductor device physics, and hardware-software co-design. Students can choose electives that align with their career aspirations, allowing them to gain in-depth knowledge and expertise in their chosen field. Laboratory work is also a crucial component of the M.Tech in VLSI Design and System program, as it provides students with hands-on experience in designing and developing electronic systems. The University has a well-equipped Laboratory with the latest cutting-edge technology for students to utilize. The program typically includes several laboratory courses that are designed to give students practical experience in various aspects of VLSI design and systems. These topics include circuit simulation, layout design, and hardware verification.
