Brief: Graphic Era deemed to be University hosted the 4th International Workshop on Advanced Wind Engineering Testing & Technology. Citing the complex interaction of climate change and built structures (buildings, bridges, automobiles and aerospace), a need has arisen for global cooperation in research studies.
For the same, top wind scientists from countries such as India (Dr Ajay Gairola and Mr. Siddharth Jena), China (Prof. Shuyang Cao and Prof. Yaojun Ge and others), Japan (Dr. Yukio Tamura and Prof. Y C Kim), USA (Dr. Ahsan Kareem, Dr. Delong Zou and Prof. Wu Teng), Canada (Dr. Gregg Kopp) and many others have come together to establish a forum on wind engineering to tackle the aforementioned issue. In continuation with it, an annual workshop to discuss the work being done in individual countries, progress made and future research collaborations are discussed.
Subsequent to recognize Dr. Gairola and Mr. Siddharth Jena’s research efforts in the Graphic era university, they have been awarded with a project of 70k USD for three years to determine influence of pedestrian winds and climate change on comfort levels of humans in urban spaces.
