Brief: GEU Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] student chapter, Department of Civil Engineering & Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs), Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India organized a webinar on the topic “Introduction to BIM in Infrastructure Planning Design & Construction” by an industry expert on 28th August 2021. The talk was delivered by Mr. Rahul Sharma (Alum: B. Tech 2009-13). He is currently working as BIM Engineer at AECONS Infotech Pvt. Ltd., India and as Structure Engineer at REVITE, U.K.
The lecture’s main highlighting point was to make the students aware about the growing importance of BIM in the construction industry in India. The students were introduced to the concepts of BIM and its applications in the industry. Also, various job opportunities in this domain were discussed with the students. The students very actively participated in the discussion with the expert on various career options after graduation in this domain and on how get themselves industry ready for the same.
