Dr. Kumar is a Ph.D. from Department of Medical Microbiology, PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research), Chandigarh. He has joined the Department of Microbiology, Graphic Era Institute Deemed to be university as Associate Professor (Research) in September, 2023. Dr. Kumar has over 15 years of research & teaching experience in the area of Molecular Biology and Microbiology. He has worked as a faculty member for five years and has taught eight different courses to BMS/MD/Ph.D/ M.Sc./B.Sc./B.Tech students. He has also worked as Associate Professor of Microbiology at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital, Uganda from 2022 to 2023. Dr. Kumar has worked as Postdoc Researcher at College of Health Sciences, University of Kwazulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. He worked there on antimicrobial resistance in ONE HEALTH project funded by South African National Research Foundation (NRF). Dr. Kumar has worked in various research projects funded by World Bank, ICMR, DBT, WELCOME TRUST and CDC-USA in different capacities of SRF, Research Associate & Research Officer. He has qualified PGIMER NET. He has published more than 70 research papers in various National & International journals indexed in SCI, SCOPUS, WoS & NAAS. His research interests include Antimicrobial Resistance, Molecular Typing of Gram Negative bacteria, Gene Expression of Efflux Pumps, C. elegans infection models.
