Dr. Kumar Gaurav is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University, Dehradun, India. He possesses over eight years of academic and research experience with expertise in high-speed flow physics, computational aerodynamics, and cavitation modeling.

His doctoral research focused on enhancing supercavitation performance in high-speed underwater vehicles, contributing significantly to drag reduction and torpedo performance optimization. Additionally, Dr. Gaurav has conducted extensive research in thrust vectoring and scramjet inlet design, addressing key challenges in high-speed propulsion systems.

He has published several research papers in reputed SCI-indexed journals, including the International Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sciences, Chemical Engineering Science, Journal of Marine Science and Application, and Journal of Applied Fluid Mechanics. His contributions encompass patented innovations, funded research projects, and academic guidance to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students in areas such as flow control and shock–boundary layer interaction.

As an educator, Dr. Gaurav has designed and delivered courses in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Compressible Aerodynamics, and Turbulence Modeling, promoting analytical and research-oriented learning among students.
