Dr. Bhawana is working as Professor in Department of Chemistry in Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, India. She joined Graphic Era University in 2008. She has completed her Ph.D in the year 2006, from Forest Research Institute University, Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Ministry of Environment and Forest, Dehradun. Her doctorate thesis work is in the area of Cellulose Chemistry. She has a vast experience in the area of teaching and research. She has published several research papers in reputed Journals, Conferences and Books. She has guided 2 Ph.D. students. She received research excellence award from GEU several times. She had worked in the field of Pulp and Paper Chemistry with principal objective of development of Biodegradable Plastic from Bagasse sponsored by Council of scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the New Millennium Indian Technology Leadership Initiative (NMITLI) in association with National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) Pune in Central Pulp and Paper Research Institute, Saharanpur. She had worked in the field of Cellulose Chemistry with Extraction, Isolation and Purification of Pulp from different raw materials while working in Cellulose and Paper division and Division of Chemistry of Forest Products, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun and Central pulp and Paper Research institute, Saharanpur. Also worked in the field of Carbohydrate Chemistry in development of Alpha Cellulose from forest and agricultural biomass while working as a Fellow Researcher in the INDUSTRY sponsored project titled Development of Technical Know-How to Prepare High Purity Alpha Cellulose from Agricultural and Forest Biomass Forest Research Institute, Dehradun.
