Listed in the Stanford University’s list of the top 2% scientists in the world, Dr Anita Pandey is Professor of Biotechnology at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. She has about 40 years of experience working on Bioprospection of Microbial Biodiversity of IHR.

Before joining Graphic Era, she served as Scientist (Scientist ‘G’ & Head) at GBP-National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Almora, Uttarakhand, India. Initially, she also served CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India, as Scientist Fellow.  MSc, PhD, and Postdoc scholars work in her research group. She has guided 27 PhD (19 completed and 8 in progress) and 45 MSc Dissertation students. She established a Microbial Culture Collection, specifically for Himalayan region, while serving the GBP-NIHE, Almora.

Dr Pandey has more than 175 research papers, 34 Book Chapters and 12 popular articles to her credit. She has published two books (edited) entitled “New and Future Developments in Microbial Biotechnology and Bioengineering-Metabolites (Elsevier)” and “Unique Ecosystems-Amazing microbes under the series Extreme Environments of CRC Press (Taylor and Francis Group). She is/has been Member/Life Member of several Scientific Societies including- The Indian Science Congress Association, National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Biological Sciences, Association of Microbiologists of India, World Federation of Culture Collection, Centraal Bureau voor Schimmel cultures, New York Academy of Sciences, Microbiologists Society, India, Indian Phytopathological Society, International Society of Tea Science, Society for Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Biotechnology Society of India, Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Sikkim Science Society, Indian Society of Soil Biology and Ecology.
