Dr Janhvi Mishra Rawat has significantly contributed in the field of Medicinal Plant Biotechnology. She established propagation protocols for High Altitude Plants. The propagation studies of alpine plants made by Dr Rawat and her associates have helped in conservation of many endangered species like Picrorhiza kurrooa, Aconitum violaceum, Angelica glauca, Nardostachys jatamansi etc. and establishing them in nature in the alpine field station. Dr Rawat received many prestigious awards and fellowships, viz. Distinguished Women Scientist of the Year-2018, Govt. of Uttarakhand, Scientist of the year-2018, NESA, New Delhi, Young Scientist Award from DST, Govt. of India, Canadian commonwealth fellowship, Women Scientist fellowship (WOSA-DST), etc. during her more than 15 years long research journey. She has also attended several International and National conferences. She has published about 51 research articles in reputed National and International journals and many more in pipe line. She has written many book chapters and handled several research projects financed by SERB, DST and UGC, Govt of India.
