Dr Jigisha Anand has done Ph. D. in Biotechnology at Graphic Era (deemed to be University) (GEU) in 2015. Her thesis research focused on the anti-candidal efficacy of green tea catechins and antimycotics. Her study identified the possible drug targets of catechins against inhibition of key enzymes involved in ergosterol biosynthesis in Candida species. She worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Biotechnology at GEU in 2017 and later joined as Assistant professor in the Department of Biotechnology at GEU in 2018. She has qualified Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test for Lectureship, Accredited by UGC in 2012. She holds a distinguished record as a faculty and researcher and has one Indian Patent Granted, published 4 National patents, 33 research papers, 5 book chapters, and edited one book.

In year 2022-23, she has published 8 research/ review papers, 2 book chapters (SCI, SCOPUS indexed). Currently, she is working as a Project investigator (PI) under GBPNIHE-IERP (MoEF), Govt. of India, funded research project (11.20 Lakhs) for the duration of three years. She has also successfully completed an in –house project on “Nutritional analyses of green tea based healthy cookies” as PI, with a grant Rs 1.25 lakh received from the GEU in 2022-23. In past one year, she has organized two International Conferences, two Guest lectures, One Workshop and One educational trip.
She has been awarded Senior Teacher Award 2023 by Microbiologists Society, India at International Conference on Microbiological Research: Current Challenges and Future Perspectives (ICMR-CCFP-2024) and Second Annual meet of Microbiologist Society, India on 9-10 January, 2023. She has successfully completed and Topped the Qualifying Exam of One Week STTP on Research Paper Writing from 31 October 2022 to 04 November 2022 organized by REST Society for Research International (RSRI) Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. She is a recipient of the IPR excellence award (2021), Scientific Excellence Award in recognition of Outstanding contribution to the research (2022), awarded by Uttarakhand Council of Science and Technology, ESDA Young Scientist Award 2021.
She has presented more than 20 research papers in National and International conferences, seminars and has organized 13 workshops, conferences. With experience of more than 9 years in the field of teaching, she teaches Microbiology, Immunology, Virology, Microbial Technology in Post-graduates and undergraduates’ programs. She has supervised graduate and post-graduate thesis and is currently supervising Ph.D. research work focusing on the biological indicators of tea quality, and antimicrobial potential, mechanism of tea catechins based nanoparticles against burn wound and healing.
