About The Program

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, established in 2016, has steadily grown into a thriving center of various disciplines. The Political Science Program began in 2018, an important step towards the expansion of the Department ‘s academic offering. The Political Science program is at the vanguard of innovative scholastic ideas and pedological initiatives.

The pedagogy adopted by the program has evolved with changing times. It combines theory with practicality and enables students to understand the complexity of Politics and Society. Students are encouraged to reflect on their own ideas and understand the differences in real life. The Program has contributed to critical thinking, inclusivity, and creativity of students. The Program also encourages the use of project-based learning, internships, field visits, and skilled based courses aligned with Swayam courses. The Program is committed towards the nurturing of international students as a reflection of Universities' commitment to global education.

B.A. (H) Political Science three years undergraduate program was introduced in 2018 and it was later updated in 2021 to include the guidelines of NEP 2020. According to NEP guidelines, the Political Science program offers a flexible and learner-centric approach. The NEP policy focused on vibrant and interdisciplinary learning for the students. It helps them to study other subjects like sociology, History, Economics, or even Science and Technology as electives along with Political Science. Under NEP, the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach has developed among students to understand the intricacies of governance, power dynamics, and social justice. Political Science follows a four-year undergraduate structure with multiple entry and exits options.

The University Grant Commission allows students to pursue A Dual Degree simultaneously. Graphic Era Deemed to be University has introduced this program after signing an MoU with Renne School of Business, Paris, France. Under the UGC guidelines, the Political Science Program has successfully implemented a dual degree allowing students to gain international exposure, employability, diverse skills, and richer global academic experience.

To expose students to the real-world applications of Political Science, various valuable activities are introduced by the program like: Lok Adalat, National Youth Parliament, and Model United Nations simulations, Policy workshops, and debates, that helps to sharpen the skills of negotiation, diplomacy, and leadership among the students.

Graduates of the Political Science program are well-prepared for careers in Public Service Commissions, International Organizations like UNO, UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO and diplomacy, Policy Research and Analysis, Social Justice, Judicial Activism, and Political Commentary. They are equipped to navigate the complexities of politics and governance, making meaningful contributions to society.

PEO1

To use knowledge of political science in critically analyzing political systems, public policies, and political behaviors at local, national, and global levels.
