BA Psychology (Hons) with Research

A 4-year degree studying human behavior, mental processes, and psychological theories. Research-oriented approach and dissertation prepare graduates for careers or Ph.D. opportunities.

The 4-year BA (Hons.) Psychology with Research program is an undergraduate program designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior, mental processes, and social interactions, with a strong emphasis on research-oriented subjects.

This extended program offers students the flexibility to choose between a standard 3-year BA (Hons.) Psychology and the 4-year BA (Hons.) Psychology with Research program.

During the initial three years, students enrolled in both the 3-year and 4-year programs will follow the same curriculum. The core courses cover a wide range of topics related to human behavior and mental processes. Students will study developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, personality psychology, and biological psychology. The program also includes an overview of the history, theoretical stances, and research techniques in psychology. Students will learn about psychological changes across the lifespan, including cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Additionally, various psychiatric diseases, symptoms, underlying causes, and available therapies will be explored.

In the fourth year of the BA (Hons.) Psychology with Research program, students will have the opportunity to specialize in research-oriented subjects. This research-centric approach equips students with valuable skills in conducting independent research, analyzing psychological phenomena, and applying research findings to practical scenarios.

Students also undertake a substantial research project, culminating in a dissertation that demonstrates their research capabilities and critical analysis.
