The program consists of a total of 16 courses spread across four semesters, including core courses, elective courses, and a dissertation. In the first semester, students are introduced to literary theory and criticism, British literature from the medieval and renaissance periods, Indian writing in English, and English language teaching.
The second semester covers British literature, American literature, literary research methodology, and linguistics. The third and fourth semesters offer a range of elective courses, including literary adaptation, comparative literature, postcolonial literature, gender studies, popular culture studies, film studies, and creative writing.
In the final semester, students are required to complete a dissertation, which endows them with an opportunity to carry out research in their area of interest and apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the program.
