Dr. Vineet Kumar is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India, in 2023. Prior to this, he completed his MTech. in Materials Science and Engineering at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad, India, in 2015, and his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering at G.L. Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida, India, in 2012.

Dr. Kumar has over 5.5 years of research experience in high-temperature casting, composite development, tribology, and advanced materials characterization, along with 3 years of teaching experience in Mechanical and Materials Engineering. His research primarily focuses on in-situ composite fabrication, tribological testing, corrosion, and process optimization using techniques like response surface methodology and artificial neural networks.

He has authored more than 16 research papers published in reputed (SCI/SCIE/SCOPUS) journals, 1 book chapters. His notable contributions include the development of Zn-Al/ZrB2 in-situ composites for tribological applications, the utilization of waste graphite crucibles for sustainable composites, and advancements in copper-based composites using microwave sintering.

Dr. Kumar has participated in and organized multiple international conferences and workshops, including topics on metallurgical waste management and industry 4.0 technologies. He has been invited as a speaker for programs on emerging trends in mechanical engineering and materials science.

In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Kumar serves as a reviewer for prestigious international journals such as Materials Research Express and Engineering Research Express. In addition to his academic achievements, he has experience in setting up tribological and material science labs and currently mentoring 1 Ph.D. students.
