• Students start their second year of study by learning literature genres in greater depth, as well as British and American literature, creative writing, and English-language writing. Also, they study postcolonial literature, which explores how colonialism has affected various cultures and societies. The year also includes an introduction to research methodology. 
• The third year comprises the study of British, American, and Commonwealth literature, contemporary literature, gender studies, literary translation, and a dissertation. Students also can choose from a range of electives. Additionally, students may have the option to specialize in a particular area of English, such as creative writing, linguistics, or literary criticism.
