The duration of the M.Sc. Biotechnology program is 2 years and is divided into four semesters. Core courses typically include Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biochemistry and Enzymology, and Cell Biology. In these courses, students learn about the structure and function of DNA, RNA, and proteins, as well as the regulation of gene expression and the principles of genetic engineering. They also learn about the biochemical reactions that occur in living cells, such as metabolism and protein synthesis, and the techniques used to study them. Students also delve deeper into the practical applications of biotechnology with Microbiology and Immunology, which cover topics such as structure and function of microorganisms, microbial genetics, and immune system. Bioprocess Engineering is also a core course, which focuses on the design and optimization of processes for the production of biotechnological products such as proteins, vaccines, and antibiotics. Biostatistics and Data Analysis is another important course, which provides students with the tools to analyse and interpret experimental data.
