About The Program

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, established in 2016, has steadily grown into a thriving center of various disciplines.

The Psychology Program began in 2016, with the inception of the department providing a strong pillar to the department’s academic offering. The Psychology program is at the vanguard of innovative ideas about mental health pertaining to the clinical, counselling, psychometrics and industrial/ organizational behavior domain.

The pedagogy adopted by the program has evolved with changing times. It combines theory with practicum that enables students to understand the complexity of human behavior through scientific and research based methodology. Students are encouraged to reflect on their own ideas with practical exposure and understand the implications in real life. The course aims at bridging the gap between theory and its practical application. The Program has contributed to critical thinking, inclusivity, and creativity of students.

The Program also encourages the use of Project-based learning, Internships, Field Visits, and Skill Based interdisciplinary courses of global relevance. The Program is committed towards the nurturing of international students as a reflection of Universities' commitment to global education. Masters in Applied Psychology started in 2022 that empowers students to understand real psychological challenges. Psychology provides opportunities for students to engage in psychological testing, behavioral analysis and ethical research. It prepares students for dynamic professional journeys. The Program offers rigorous farmwork for the students that helps with various competitive exams, like SET, NET, and JRF.

Eligibility Criteria for the admissions in the Program

  • A candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of 3 years duration.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 55% in the bachelor's degree is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related Humanities/Arts discipline is preferred.
  • Graduate from any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce, engineering etc.) provided they meet the minimum aggregate marks or qualify for an entrance exam.

No. Completing an MA in Applied Psychology does not automatically qualify you to practice as a licensed Clinical Psychologist in India. However, the MA Applied Psychology provides the essential foundation and eligibility for further studies to become a licensed clinical psychologist in India.
