Master’s Degree in Relevant Discipline with 55% or 6.0 CGPA. GATE or CSIR UGC NET Qualified are exempted from written examination and directly eligible for Interview.

About The Program

The Economics program was introduced by the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences at Graphic Era Deemed to be University in 2016 with an undergraduate course.

The Masters and PhD program blends economic theory with practical applications.The program engages in collaborative activities that stimulate creative solutions to economic problems and to make decisions in real life scenarios. The Program is offering comprehensive coverage of the major fields in modern and sustainable economics.

Our goal is to make students active participants in the learning process. Internships both on and off campus are another way to acquire practical experiences. In addition, the department also recognizes the importance of conducting professionally relevant service activities for the university at the local, state and national levels. The faculty shall make every effort to create an intellectual environment in which a researcher has theconfidence and freedom to challenge and accept critical positions and methodologies.

Teaching Pedagogies

The main aim of the the course is to emphasis on research integrated learning and to develop analytical and critical thinking among students . Following approaches are used

  • Case Studies: Students engage with real-world economic scenarios and policy challenges, analyzing real time situations to understand how economic theory operates in practice. 
  • Blended and digital learning: Integrating emerging technologies such SPSS, Stata E-views, EXCEL, Big Data & R for data driven economic researches.
  • Experiential learning: Learning by doing, Project based learning, students apply economic concepts, quantitative tools, and research methodologies to investigate the root causes of real-world economic problems and propose evidence-based solutions.
  • Interdisciplinary Approach: To understand various social, political and philosophical perspective to bring out sustainable solutions to real world issues.
