A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree of three years’ duration.

About The Program

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, established in 2016, has steadily grown into a thriving center of various disciplines. The Political Science Program began in 2018, an important step towards the expansion of the Department ‘s academic offering.

The Political Science program is at the vanguard of innovative scholastic ideas and pedological initiatives. The pedagogy adopted by the program has evolved with changing times. It combines theory with practicality and enables students to understand the complexity of Politics and Society.

Students are encouraged to reflect on their own ideas and understand the differences in real life. The Program has contributed to critical thinking, inclusivity, and creativity of students. The Program also encourages the use of Project-based learning, Internships, Field Visits, and Skilled Based courses. The Program is committed towards the nurturing of international students as a reflection of Universities' commitment to global education.

Masters in Political Science started in 2021 that empowers students to understand real politics, governance, and day-to-day affairs of society. Political Science provides opportunities for students to engage in activism, advocacy, and leadership. It prepares students for dynamic professional journeys. The Program offers rigorous farmwork for the students that helps with various competitive exams, like SET, NET, and JRF.

Eligibility

  • A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree of three years’ duration.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 55% in the bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Political Science or a related Humanities/Arts discipline is preferred.
  • Graduate from any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce, engineering etc.) provided they meet the minimum aggregate marks or qualify for an entrance exam.

PSO 1

After the completion of the graduation course in B.A (H) Political Science, the students will be able to engage in further research by taking up further studies in the same area or in related areas such as Law, International Relations and Public Administration

PSO 2

The students will be able to engage with prominent think tanks across the country as well as abroad and provide their valuable intellectual services as Research Analysts.

PSO 3

After a detailed understanding of International Affairs, the students will be able to engage in professional and intellectual posts with the organisations such as the United Nations, giving them an opportunity to utilise their knowledge in the respective field for furthering betterment at the global as well as the national level.
