About The Program

The Department of Mathematics at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) offers a dynamic research-oriented Ph.D. program designed to promote scholarship in both pure and applied mathematics.

The program is supported by a strong academic ecosystem, experienced faculty, and a culture of interdisciplinary research. Research supervision is provided across a wide spectrum of mathematical domains such as Numerical Analysis & Differential equations, Operations Research, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Mathematical Modeling, Astrophysics, Probability and Stochastic Processes, Fluid Dynamics, Biomathematics, Image Processing, Fuzzy Set Theory and Fixed Point Theory.

The department emphasizes theoretical depth, analytical precision, and computational competence. In addition, the Department offers opportunities for teaching assistantships and a fully funded Ph.D. program in Mathematics, subject to merit and funding availability. Strong institutional support is provided for conducting research, publishing in high-impact journals, and presenting scholarly outcomes at national and international forums.

Eligibility Criteria

M.Sc. (Mathematics) passed from any Indian University/ Equivalent Foreign University with 55%.

Teaching Pedagogies

The Ph.D. Program in Mathematics adopts a research-intensive, learner-centric and outcome-oriented pedagogical framework designed to nurture scholars into independent, innovative and ethically responsible researchers with strong analytical, theoretical, and computational capabilities. The program integrates rigorous coursework, advanced research training, and continuous scholarly engagement to ensure global academic competitiveness.

  • Coursework
The coursework component provides comprehensive exposure to advanced areas of mathematics and modern research methodologies. It is designed to strengthen theoretical foundations while developing problem-solving, proof-writing, and analytical skills. Through lectures, tutorials, seminars, and journal-based discussions, scholars gain familiarity with contemporary research trends. This structure prepares students to identify meaningful research gaps.
  • Research-Oriented Pedagogy
The program emphasizes learning through research, where scholars actively engage in theoretical analysis, modeling, and proof techniques. They are trained in algorithm development, computational experimentation, and validation of results. Regular research seminars, presentations, and peer discussions promote critical thinking and academic communication. Faculty mentoring ensures methodological rigor and originality. This approach nurtures independent and high-quality mathematical research.
  • Blended and Digital Learning Approaches
The program integrates digital tools and online academic resources to support flexible and enriched learning. Scholars use e-journals, research databases, mathematical software, and virtual libraries for literature review and experimentation. Webinars, MOOCs, and online conferences provide exposure to global research communities. These digital platforms enhance collaboration and knowledge access. This blended model supports continuous and self-directed learning.
  • Continuous Assessment
Assessment is continuous and focuses on both academic progress and research outcomes. Scholars are evaluated through coursework, seminars, research reviews, and thesis milestones. Periodic presentations and publications help track the development of research quality. Constructive feedback ensures timely improvement and academic discipline. This system ensures consistent progress toward successful doctoral completion.
