Master’s degree in Political Science or related disciplines (Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Economics, etc.) with 55% marks as per university regulations.

About The Program

The PhD Program in Political Science program, started on 21 August 2021 under the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is designed for students with a strong inclination toward advanced inquiry into political ideas, institutions, governance, and contemporary National and International issues.

The program provides a supportive academic environment for the students under the guidance of experienced faculty members. To develop original research students are encouraged to write articles on reputed magazine like world focus, Economic & Political Weekly and Partiyogita Darpan. It helps to strengthen students analytical and methodological skills.

The National Education Policy 2020 strongly encourages multilingualism in Higher Education, Including PhD program. Under the NEP guidelines the Political Science program implemented bilingual approach for PhD students.

A key strength of program is its encouragement and support for funded Projects like Indian Council of Social Research (ICSSR), Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) and National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The Program also promotes Indian Council of Social Research (ICSSR) Doctoral fellowship programs for the students and enable them for high quality research. Overall, the program aims to nurture independent thinker and responsible academician who can make their valuable contribution to the society in the field of political science.

Eligibility

Master’s degree in Political Science or related disciplines (Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Economics, etc.) with 55% marks as per university regulations.

  • Candidates must clear the entrance examination and interview conducted by the department. Applicants with prior research experience or publications will be given preference.
