Dr. Prabhakar Semwal is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Graphic Era
(Deemed to be University), Dehradun. Prior to joining the University, he served at the Uttarakhand State Council for
Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun, Government of Uttarakhand, for a period of five years in various scientific
and administrative roles.
He has published more than 55 research and review papers in peer-reviewed, high-impact international journals, including
Food Chemistry, Food Chemistry-X, Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Reviews International,
Phytomedicine, Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, and Antioxidants. He has also authored eight book chapters published by
reputed international publishers such as Springer Cham, Elsevier, John Wiley & Sons, and Springer Nature, and has edited
two books published by CRC Press and one book is in printing.
Dr. Semwal is actively involved in research supervision and funded projects. At present, he is supervising five Ph.D.
scholars and is working on four externally funded research projects supported by State and Central funding agencies. In
addition to teaching and research, Dr. Semwal contributes to academic publishing and peer review. He has served as a
Guest Associate Editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology (Ethnopharmacology Section) and as a Review Editor and reviewer for
several reputed national and international journals.
