


Professor Microbiology
She is a dynamic and versatile teacher–researcher with over 23 years of experience, possessing strong analytical and technical expertise. She has qualified prestigious national-level examinations including the Joint CSIR–UGC Research Fellowship (JRF), National Eligibility Test (NET) and the GATE examination. She earned her Ph.D. from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, where she initiated her research career by investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of Salmonella typhimurium using animal models. Concurrently, she contributed significantly to research on neuroinflammation, with a particular emphasis on Parkinson’s disease. Her current research interests include the exploration of saponins and essential oils along with studies aimed at their industrial and commercial applications. She has also served as Co-Principal Investigator on a UCOST-funded project that assessed the medicinal properties of traditional alcoholic beverages from specific hilly regions. Owing to her sustained dedication to research, she has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, in addition to authoring book chapters in reputed edited volumes. She also has extensive experience in organizing national and international conferences, workshops, and training programs. Beyond her scientific pursuits, she has recognized expertise in Yoga and Meditation, reflected in her active involvement in organizing stress management and wellness programs for faculty members, students, and university staff.
She also serves as an internal expert on the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC) at Graphic Era Deemed to be University.
