Dr. Brijesh Prasad, an esteemed academic, researcher, and entrepreneur, is currently an Assistant Professor at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, India. Born on August 25, 1988, and educated at D.A.V. Public School, he has made significant strides in mechanical engineering, advanced materials, and sustainable development.
Dr. Prasad’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University in 2010, followed by a Master of Technology in CAD/CAM & Robotics from Graphic Era University in 2016, where he earned a silver medal. In 2020, he completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), and in 2023, he pursued a Post-Doctorate at the Institute of Advanced Materials, Sweden.
Dr. Prasad began his career as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)-funded project under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, from 2016 to 2019. He also served as a Research Associate on another DST-sponsored project before joining Graphic Era as an Assistant Professor in 2021.
His research focuses on agricultural technology, converting waste into viable products, smart composites, polymer sensors, and wastewater treatment technologies. Notable projects include an international collaboration on industrial wastewater treatment funded by his startup, Green Ashes Technology, based in Hong Kong, and research on polymer sensors funded by Majmaah University, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Prasad has secured significant grants from national bodies such as the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST). He has also established collaborations through MOUs with institutions like Opole University of Technology (Poland), Majmaah University (Saudi Arabia), and the Institute of Advanced Materials (Sweden).
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Prasad is the Co-founder of Green Ashes, a Hong Kong-based startup focusing on sustainable technologies, and the Pinegreen Welfare Society, an NGO dedicated to the sustainable development of the Himalayan region.
