


On August 29, 2024, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University organized a one-hour awareness drive on the needs of especially abled children. The event aimed to sensitize students. to intellectual disabilities and developmental delays and saw active participation from 100 students and 10 faculty members.
Representatives from RAPHAEL Ryder Cheshire, Mrs. Surabhi Khanduri and Mrs. Lata Chamoli, served as guest speakers. Mrs. Khanduri introduced RAPHAEL’s mission, history, and services for individuals with leprosy, TB, and disabilities. Mrs. Chamoli detailed their therapies, special education frameworks, and vocational programs for children with autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome. A short video showcased RAPHAEL’s impact, and students were informed about volunteering and internship opportunities. The event concluded with a Q&A session and a closing address by the HoD, emphasizing inclusion and gratitude to the speakers.
