


Professor & Head Microbiology
Dr. Rani obtained her Ph.D. from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. With over 14.6 years of experience in research and teaching, Dr. Rani has explored diverse domains within Microbiology. She has served as Co-Principal Investigator on two research projects sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. Her primary research interests include plant-microbes Interactions, bioremediation, and environmental microbiology.
Dr. Rani’s academic contributions extend beyond research. She has played a key role in organizing national and international conferences, seminars, training programs, and outreach activities. The impact of her research is reflected in her extensive publication record, with over 80 research articles published in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals, along with edited books. In addition, she holds two published patents, underscoring her contributions to innovation and applied research. As a dedicated academic mentor, Dr. Rani has actively guided and supervised Ph.D., postgraduate, and undergraduate students in their research, primarily in the area of Microbiology. She also serves as a reviewer and topic editor for several reputed international journals and has contributed as an expert member in Boards of Studies meetings at various universities.
In recognition of her scientific contributions, Dr. Rani was listed among the top 2% of scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University in 2025.
