Dr. Avinash Sharma

Assistant Professor Biotechnology

Dr. Avinash works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). He successfully completed his Ph.D. from Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India, where he also earned his M.Tech in Biotechnology. Prior to his postgraduate studies, he completed his B.Tech in Biotechnology from the same institution.

His research focuses on the extraction and purification of bioactive phytonutrients and their in vitro and in vivo biomedical applications. Over the years, he has published several high-quality research articles and book chapters in reputed SCI- and Scopus-indexed journals and books. In addition, he has filed two utility patents related to his research work, highlighting the innovative aspects of his contributions. With more than four years of academic and research experience, he has made significant contributions to the field of biotechnology.

Previously, he served as a Teaching Assistant and Assistant Professor at Shoolini University, where he taught a wide range of subjects including Microbiology, Biosensors, Downstream Processing, Cell and Molecular Biology, Plant and Animal Biotechnology, and Food Biotechnology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Currently, at Graphic Era University, he continues to teach diverse biotechnology courses and actively mentors students, fostering their intellectual curiosity and academic growth.

His teaching philosophy emphasizes creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment, integrating theoretical concepts with practical applications. His research interests also include the green synthesis of nanoparticles and the exploration of their antimicrobial and antidiabetic properties. He is deeply committed to advancing biotechnological research and actively participates in interdisciplinary collaborations to drive innovation. As a passionate educator and lifelong learner, he continually updates himself with emerging advancements in the field, striving to inspire and guide students toward academic and professional excellence.
