Professor Physics
Dr. Deepak is currently serving as a Professor of Physics in the Department of Applied Sciences at Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He obtained his B.Sc. degree from C.C.S. University, followed by an M.Sc. in Physics (Electronics specialisation) and M.Phil. in Physics from C.C.S. University Campus. He earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, where his doctoral research focused on pulsed-laser deposition of nanostructured double-perovskite thin films and multilayers.
With over 20 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Dr. Deepak has established himself as a dedicated academician and researcher. He is actively mentoring research scholars in advanced areas of materials science and energy storage technologies, with special emphasis on the development, optimization, and characterization of functional materials. His current research focuses on designing high-efficiency electrode materials for next-generation supercapacitors and battery devices, with the aim of practical, scalable renewable energy storage solutions.
His research interests encompass double perovskite thin films, exchange bias phenomena, doped oxide systems, nanocrystalline functional materials, and energy storage devices. He has published more than 40 research articles in reputed SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and holds 08 patents. In addition to his research contributions, he actively supports academia through organising conferences, delivering invited talks at workshops and conferences, reviewing manuscripts for SCI/Scopus-indexed journals, and serving on the editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals.
