Dr. Narendra Gariya completed his doctoral research in Soft Robotics, where his work focused on the design and development of compliant robotic systems inspired by biological structures. His research interests are centered on bio-inspired soft actuators and soft sensors, with applications spanning industrial automation and medical rehabilitation. Alongside soft robotics, Dr. Gariya is actively involved in the development of natural-fiber-reinforced composite materials, aiming to create sustainable and efficient alternatives for industrial use. His research combines mechanical design, advanced materials, actuation and sensing technologies, with an emphasis on practical implementation and real-world impact. He has made notable contributions to innovation and intellectual property, with 13 granted patents, including 01 Innovation Patent, 05 Utility Patents, and 07 Industrial Design Patents, in addition to 15 published patent applications. He has also authored 44 peer-reviewed research and review articles published in reputed national and international journals, reflecting sustained engagement with high-quality academic research. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Gariya worked in industry as a Quality Control Engineer and Design and Development Engineer at Prevail Casting Pvt. Ltd., Rajkot, Gujarat. This industrial experience has strongly influenced his applied research outlook and teaching methodology, allowing him to bridge theoretical concepts with practical engineering challenges. With a balanced background in academia, industry, and research, Dr. Narendra Gariya brings strong expertise in soft robotics, mechanical system design, and sustainable engineering, positioning him well to contribute scholarly work that connects fundamental research with emerging industrial and medical applications.
