Assistant Professor Chemistry
Dr. Shweta Bisht is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun. She is a trained synthetic organic chemist with expertise in small-molecule design, multistep synthesis, catalysis, and green synthetic methodologies. She obtained her Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee, where her research focused on the synthesis of multifunctional heterocycles via domino reactions. She has over 8 years of research experience and 2 years of teaching experience, delivering courses at both undergraduate (B.Sc.) and postgraduate (M.Sc.) levels. During her Ph.D., she also supervised laboratory sessions for B.Tech students. She has served as a Research Associate at CSIR–CDRI, Lucknow, working on small-molecule antiviral development, and as a Guest Faculty at Doon University.
Her research interests include heterocyclic chemistry, domino and multicomponent reactions, and sustainable/green synthesis. Dr. Bisht has published in reputed international journals such as Journal of Organic Chemistry, Tetrahedron, and Asian Journal of Organic Chemistry, and contributed to the Handbook of C–H Functionalization (Wiley). She is a recipient of CSIR-JRF/SRF, secured AIR 31 in CSIR-UGC NET, qualified GATE, and was awarded the University Gold Medal in M.Sc. Chemistry (University of Kota). She has presented her work at national and international conferences, including the IUPAC International Conference on Organic Synthesis (Italy).
