Dr. Srichandan Padhi holds a Ph.D. in Life Sciences with extensive hands-on experience in laboratory and research settings. His expertise encompasses both basic and advanced techniques in bioinformatics, microbiology, and natural product research. His research has primarily focused on the exploration of small-molecule natural products and bioactive peptides, particularly their potential applications as therapeutics and nutraceuticals. Dr. Padhi’s current research investigates the oral and gut microbiomes of the ethnic Sikkimese population in relation to fermented food consumption and Helicobacter pylori infection (HPI). This retrospective case-control study aims to analyze the diversity, composition, and immunomodulatory roles of these microbiomes and their associated metabolomes by comparing newly diagnosed HPI patients with non-HPI individuals, with a specific focus on the influence of traditional fermented foods consumed in the Sikkim region.
