


Professor Electronics and Communication Engineering
Dr. Varij Panwar received his Ph.D. degree on conducting polymer composites from Department of Electronic Science, University of Delhi, India in 2008. From 2008 to 2013, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher and research group leader in Micro-Actuator Lab, at Robot Research Initiative, Chonnam National University, Gwangju Korea on ionic polymer actuators. He worked as a Principal Investigator in Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea, from 2013 to 2016 and received research grant of 141228.12 USD from National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea on ionic polymer actuator and sensors. In 2016, he moved to Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University, Dehradun, India where he is now working as Professor and received research grant of Rs. 3777750/- from science and engineering research board (SERB), department of Science and technology (DST) for conducting research on ionic polymer transducer. His current research interests are electronic-ionic nanocomposites sensors for energy harvesting applications, ionic polymer skins for wearable sensor, and bio-gradable bags. His 22 Indian Patents have been granted. He has published 97 papers in peer-reviewed journals and Scopus indexed conferences, with an H-index of 22 and > 1662 citations. He has guided 5 Ph.D. students and 13 M. tech. students. He has been working as IPR coordinator of the University since 2018. He has also been awarded 4 consultancy research grants from government agencies such as AICTE and UCOST.
