The Centre of Energy Research (CER) at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, is an initiative to create an enabling environment for developing capacity for research and education in the field of clean energy towards achieving the Government of India’s plan of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based generation capacity in the country by 2030, and net-zero emissions by 2070.
The CER is envisioned as a multidisciplinary centre and aims to establish infrastructure at par with international level for conducting research and various academic programmes such as M.Sc, B. Tech, M. Tech and Ph. D in the field of clean energy.

The CoE is headed by a very senior level scientist/technocrat, Dr. B S Negi as Director. Dr. Negi superannuated from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India as Adviser/Scientist-G in June 2021 is having 30 years of enriched experience in policy and programs formulation and implementation in research, development and demonstration, Human Resource Development, International Cooperation for technology development for promotion of renewable energy and addressing climate change mitigation at national level.
