The Debating Society of Graphic Era Deemed to be University (DebSoc), established in 2019, exemplifies the pursuit of intellectual excellence through structured dialogue and eloquent expression. Debating develops critical thinking, clear expression of ideas, and confidence.
Since its inception, DebSoc has organized a range of National, Inter-University, and IntraUniversity events, including Word War (National Debating League), Baat-cheet (Bilingual Speech Series), Charcha & Vitark (Group Discussions), Spellathon (Spelling Competition), Debathon & Aarambh (Flagship Debating Events), Mock Parliaments, Interviews & Workshops, and Society Interaction Meetings.

DebSoc envisions a community where individuals confidently represent themselves at national conferences and beyond, supported by speech and debate programs that nurture communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
The society further aims to strengthen public speaking, argumentation, and critical thinking skills through practice and competitions; promote awareness of current affairs and global issues; facilitate networking with professionals and alumni in public speaking and advocacy; and host debates, workshops, and seminars to encourage intellectual engagement and community involvement.

Launched as a parallel initiative to DebSoc on February 28, 2025, the Quizzing Community (QuizCom) aims to bolster all quizzing endeavors in the university.
QuizCom has collaborated on key events, including Debathon 2.0, Aarambh, and Saajhi Virasat, enhancing intellectual depth and showcasing commitment to providing a platform to students to test their wit, focus and determination.
It provides a dedicated area for sharp minds to excel in quizzing, promotes campus-wide enthusiasm for knowledge-based competitions, and cultivates rapid recall, analytical thinking, and teamwork, skills central to DebSoc's mission.
The Debating Society’s flagship events showcase intellectual rigor, public speaking prowess, and community engagement. All events were held at the university's Silver Jubilee Convention Centre, attended by dignitaries, and designed to intellectually stimulate students.
The three primary events of the society are Debathon, Spellathon, and Aarambh, which have drawn participants from multiple institutions. Following is an overview of the events

The inaugural edition featured a book discussion with renowned author Mrs. Gita Shree, the PariCharcha panel discussion, a KBC-themed Fast Facts Frenzy Quiz, and a cultural evening.

This inter-institutional spelling competition tested participants' vocabulary, focus, and determination.
Highlights included Charcha (public speaking on critical and SDG-related issues), the KBCthemed Kaun Banega Debathon Winner quiz, and cultural performances.
The event comprised an interactive confidence-boosting workshop, Word War 4.0 (contemporary debate), Aarambh Quiz Championship, and a panel discussion on the three-language formula.
These events undoubtedly continue to elevate discourse at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). They foster enduring skills in communication and critical analysis among participants.
The Debating Society’s working committee compromises of esteemed faculty coordinators and dynamic student leaders. The structure ensures seamless collaboration across all society initiatives.
