Rangmanch Performing Arts Society Activity Report

Rangmanch is the official dramatics and performing arts society of Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). It serves as a dynamic platform for students who are passionate about theatre, dance, and music, providing them with opportunities to explore, express, and refine their artistic talents.

The society plays a vital role in enriching the cultural environment of the university by organising performances, participating in competitions, and contributing to major campus events.

Rangmanch functions through its specialised groups, each dedicated to a specific art form. Saadhna and D-Dynamix represent the dance divisions, showcasing diverse styles and highenergy performances. Aahuti focuses on singing and musical expression, while the theatre wing nurtures aspiring actors, scriptwriters, and stage performers. Together, these groups work collaboratively to create impactful stage productions and memorable cultural experiences.

Beyond performances, Rangmanch fosters creativity, confidence, teamwork, and leadership among its members. It provides a supportive environment where students can grow artistically while building discipline and strong stage presence. Through dedication and passion, Rangmanch continues to represent the vibrant artistic spirit of the university.

Objectives of Kavyanjali

Events

Accolade

Accolade, one of the most prestigious and large-scale events at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), stands as the second biggest event collaborating with diff clubs. Organised in collaboration with multiple university clubs, the event serves as a grand platform to celebrate artistic talent and cultural expression following by technical events.

During Accolade 3.0, Rangmanch delivered two impactful theatrical performances — Charandas Chor and Gaddha.

Charandas Chor, a celebrated Indian play, brought satire, humour, and strong social commentary to the stage, showcasing the acting depth and coordination of the theatre wing. The performance was appreciated for its expressive storytelling and powerful stage presence.

Gaddha was presented with equal intensity and dramatic execution, reflecting the versatility and dedication of the performers. Both plays highlighted Rangmanch’s commitment to meaningful theatre and its ability to engage and captivate a large audience.

The event witnesses massive student participation and audience engagement, making it one of the most anticipated highlights of the academic year. Through seamless planning and dynamic execution, Rangmanch plays a central role in curating and managing this prestigious event.

Grafest

Grafest, the annual cultural fest of Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), is one of the most anticipated events of the academic year, bringing together large-scale performances, competitions, and celebrations across the campus.

During Grafest, Rangmanch showcased its theatrical excellence through the presentation of Padmavat. The play was a grand theatrical adaptation that highlighted themes of courage, honour, and sacrifice. With strong dialogue delivery, expressive performances, detailed costumes, and impactful stage presence, the production captured the attention of a vast audience.

The performance demonstrated the society’s ability to handle large-scale productions and reaffirmed its position as a leading performing arts society within the university. Rangmanch’s participation in Grafest added significant artistic value to the celebration and was met with great appreciation.

Following its impactful presentation at Grafest, Rangmanch was invited to perform Padmavat at Doon Medical College. This invitation marked a significant milestone for the society, reflecting the recognition and appreciation the performance received beyond the university campus.

The theatrical adaptation of Padmavat was once again presented with grandeur, powerful dialogue delivery, and strong stage presence. The performance was well-received by the audience and showcased Rangmanch’s capability to represent Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) on an external platform with excellence and professionalism.

This opportunity not only highlighted the artistic strength of the society but also reinforced its growing reputation in the inter-institutional cultural landscape.

Janmashtmi

On the occasion of Janmashtami, Rangmanch presented a special theatrical performance celebrating the spirit and significance of the festival at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). The act beautifully portrayed themes inspired by the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, blending devotion with artistic expression.

The performance was appreciated for its vibrant presentation, expressive acting, and cultural authenticity, adding to the festive atmosphere on campus.

Performance at ISKCON Temple

Extending its celebration beyond the university, Rangmanch was also invited to perform the act at the ISKCON Temple Dehradun. This opportunity marked another proud moment for the society, as it showcased its talent on a spiritual and community platform.

The performance received warm appreciation from the audience and temple authorities, reflecting the society’s ability to present culturally rich and meaningful theatre beyond the academic environment.

Student Grafest

Inter-Campus Theatre Competition

Rangmanch also actively participated in Student Grafest, a student-organized cultural fest that brings together performers from different campuses under the Graphic Era group.

The event serves as a competitive platform where students showcase their talent in theatre, dance, and other performing arts.

In the theatre category, Rangmanch presented powerful productions including Chhava and Inqalab Zindabad from Graphic Era Deemed University, while Chandragupt Maurya was presented by Graphic Era Hill University. Each performance reflected historical and patriotic themes, delivered with strong dialogue, impactful stage presence, and compelling storytelling.

Among the competing productions, Chhava secured the First Prize, marking a significant achievement for Rangmanch. The award recognized the team’s dedication, coordination, and theatrical excellence. This victory further strengthened the society’s reputation as a leading performing arts group within the university ecosystem.

Adding to this success, the dance wing Saadhna delivered an outstanding group folk dance performance, which was awarded the First Prize in its category. The performance stood out for its synchronization, vibrant choreography, and cultural authenticity.

Inqalab Zindabad play

Rangmanch presented the powerful theatrical production Inqalab Zindabad at the Silver Jublee Convention Centre of Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). The play, centered around themes of patriotism, revolution, and sacrifice, delivered an emotionally intense and impactful performance that deeply resonated with the audience.

The production received an overwhelming response and stood out as one of the most memorable performances staged by the society. In recognition of the exceptional effort, dedication, and artistic excellence displayed by the team, the Chairman of the university, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, awarded the performers with a cash prize of ₹1,00,000.

This remarkable acknowledgment not only highlighted the quality of Rangmanch’s theatrical productions but also reinforced its stature as a leading performing arts society within the institution.

National Theatre Fest – Chitkara University

Rangmanch proudly represented Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) at the National Theatre Fest (Rangrez) organized by Chitkara University. The festival brought together theatre societies and performers from various institutions across the country, providing a prestigious platform for dramatic arts.

At the fest, Rangmanch presented two full-length plays — Charandas Chor and Chainpur Ki Daastan — along with a powerful Nukkad Natak titled Mard Ka Dard. Each performance reflected strong storytelling, impactful dialogue delivery, and disciplined stage execution.

Dussehra Celebration – Achievement by Aahuti

On the occasion of Dussehra, the singing wing of Rangmanch, Aahuti, actively participated in the cultural celebrations organized at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). The team delivered a soulful and energetic musical performance that resonated strongly with the audience.

Their presentation was highly appreciated for vocal excellence, coordination, and stage presence. In recognition of their outstanding performance, Aahuti was awarded a cash prize, marking another proud achievement for Rangmanch.

Rendezvous – Intra-University Achievement

Rangmanch actively participated in Rendezvous, a cultural event organized by another club at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University). The event provided a competitive platform for various performing arts teams across the campus.

During the event, the dance wing Saadhna delivered a dynamic and well-coordinated performance that earned them prize recognition. The singing wing Aahuti also showcased exceptional vocal talent and secured awards for their performance.

Participation at Uttarakhand Road Safety & Green Earth Youth Festival 2026

Rangmanch proudly represented Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) at the Uttarakhand Road Safety & Green Earth Youth Festival 2026, organized by the Regional Transport Office (RTO), hosted at DIT University Dehradun.

At the festival, Rangmanch presented a socially impactful theatrical performance centered on road safety awareness, delivering a strong and meaningful message through compelling storytelling and powerful stage execution. The play effectively highlighted the importance of responsible driving, public awareness, and youth participation in building a safer society.

The performance received immense appreciation from the audience and judges, and Rangmanch was awarded the First Prize for its outstanding presentation. This achievement not only reflected the society’s artistic excellence but also its ability to address critical social issues through theatre.This victory further strengthened Rangmanch’s reputation as a socially conscious and high-performing cultural society representing the university on prestigious platforms.

Agri Fest – Achievement by D-Dynamix

Rangmanch’s dance wing, D-Dynamix, participated in Agri Fest hosted at Graphic Era Hill University. The event brought together talented performers from different institutions, creating a competitive and vibrant atmosphere.

D-Dynamix delivered an energetic and well-synchronised dance performance that captivated the audience and judges alike. Their coordination, choreography, and stage presence earned them the Third Prize Trophy, marking another proud achievement for Rangmanch.

This accomplishment further highlights the strength and versatility of the society’s dance division and its continued success across inter-campus platforms.

Nukkad Natak Performances – Social Awareness Initiatives

Rangmanch has actively used street theatre (Nukkad Natak) as a medium to address important social issues and engage directly with audiences.

One such performance was Naari Par Aari, presented at Graphic Era Hill University (Prof. KP Nautiyal). The play focused on women-centric social concerns, delivering a strong and thought-provoking message through powerful dialogue and interactive storytelling. The performance was appreciated for its intensity and meaningful portrayal of social realities.

Additionally, Rangmanch staged an Anti-Ragging Nukkad Natak at Graphic Era Deemed University to promote awareness about creating a safe and respectful campus environment. The act effectively highlighted the importance of unity, respect, and student well-being, reinforcing the university’s commitment to a ragging-free culture.

Through these street plays, Rangmanch demonstrated its dedication not only to entertainment but also to social responsibility and awareness-building.

Vishv Hindi Gaurav Sammelan

Organized on the occasion of World Hindi Day (Vishv Hindi Diwas), the Vishv Hindi Gaurav Sammelan functioned as an intellectually enriching forum focused on the evolving status of Hindi as a national language. The event addressed critical concerns such as the growing dominance of foreign languages in academic and professional spheres and the gradual erosion of linguistic pride. Through insightful discussions, expert perspectives, and interactive sessions, the Sammelan inspired students to reconnect with their linguistic heritage and actively contribute to the preservation and promotion of Hindi language and culture.
