Graphic era is one of the very prestigious universities in Uttarakhand and I was honored to be a part of its curriculum for my Bachelor’s degree. I learned a lot of new things throughout my academic journey which helped me prepare for future. I had good classmates and excellent teachers and I loved my journey and hope the very best for its success in the future. To be very honest to me Graphic era was exactly how it was expected to be, didn’t bother when it started and didn’t realize when it ended scored good marks but learned nothing i didn’t already know except a few dance steps. But i suppose that is how it was supposed to be anyway. Graphic era is a decent university at best.

I’m Basant Kumar Gupta, a 2024 graduate of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, and I’m currently pursuing LL.B. at Symbiosis Law School, Pune. The best part of my time in the HSS department was its environment. Supportive, encouraging, and genuinely growth-oriented. The department helped me build confidence in public speaking, writing, and critical thinking, and these are skills I carry with me in law school today. The exposure to discussions, presentations, and academic activities shaped the way I approach learning and problem-solving. I truly miss those thought- provoking classes where every opinion was respected and heard. My professors went beyond classroom teaching and helped me connect the course with real-life learning. What makes it even more special is that even today, I remain in touch with them and continue to feel inspired by their guidance.

Five years ago, if someone had told me I’d go from crunching numbers as a data analyst to advising top companies on taxes at EY, I would’ve laughed. But here I am—a proud tax analyst at one of the Big 4. My journey has been anything but linear, blending curiosity, grit, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. It all started at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, where I pursued a B.A. (H) in Economics, drawn to the fascinating interplay of numbers and policies shaping the economy. My first role as a Data Analyst let me dive deep into datasets, uncovering trends and insights, but something was missing—I wanted a role where strategy and numbers could collide. That’s when I pivoted to taxation, a world of hidden gears and ever-changing rules that keep economies running. Transitioning wasn’t easy, but my data-driven mindset made the leap smoother. EY became the dream destination where I combined analytical expertise with strategic problem-solving to optimize tax strategies and help businesses thrive. Along the way, I learned that adaptability is key, skills are transferable, and continuous learning is nonnegotiable. Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep evolving, pushing boundaries, and proving that success isn’t about sticking to one path—it’s about being bold enough to pave your own.

With a clear goal in mind, I aimed to further my studies abroad, and thanks to the solid foundation from Graphic Era, I was accepted into the prestigious University of Regensburg in Germany, where I am currently pursuing an MSc in Economics. My time at Graphic Era was transformative, and it paved the way for my continued academic success on an international platform.
