Dr. Arvind Singh Negi is an accomplished academician, researcher, and administrator in the field of Agricultural Sciences. With over more than 12 years of professional experience spanning academics, research, administration, and the seed industry, he has made significant contributions to teaching, crop improvement research, and agricultural innovation.
Dr. Negi specializes in Genetics and Plant Breeding with a strong interdisciplinary focus on Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. His research interests include germplasm conservation, seed production, aromatic plants, plant biotechnology, hydroponics, tissue culture, and crop improvement strategies. He has actively contributed to multiple research projects funded by central and state agencies and has mentored several Ph.D. and M.Sc. scholars in their academic and research pursuits. An alumnus of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, Dr. Negi earned his Ph.D. in Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding with a minor in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) in 2017, after completing his M.Sc. with distinction in 2013.
He also qualified ICAR-NET, received the prestigious ICAR National Talent Scholarship (NTS) during his studies, and was recognized with the Best Thesis Award during his doctoral research. Dr. Negi has organized numerous international, national, and regional conferences, seminars, and workshops, demonstrating his commitment to academic leadership and scientific collaboration. His scholarly contributions include books, research papers, and popular articles in the areas of agriculture, biotechnology, plant breeding, and sustainable agricultural technologies. Through his teaching, research, and outreach activities, Dr. Negi continues to contribute toward advancing agricultural education and sustainable crop development.
