Dr. Dinesh Kumar Vishwakarma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, India. He obtained his B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh (2013), M.Tech. in Soil and Water Engineering from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), Srinagar (2018), and Ph.D. in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand (2025). He also served as a Field Investigator at SKUAST-K from September 2025 to March 2026.

His research expertise lies in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, with a focus on irrigation and drainage engineering, soil and water conservation, hydrology, water resources systems, climatology, remote sensing and GIS, and environmental science. His key research interests include evapotranspiration modeling, soil moisture dynamics, drought forecasting, runoff prediction, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in hydrology, agriculture, and climate change studies.

He has also contributed 13 book chapters published by Springer and Elsevier.

He has also published three Indian patents.

Dr. Vishwakarma is a life member of the Scholars Academic and Scientific Society and an annual member of the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development. His research impact is reflected by an h-index of 32 (Google Scholar) and 28 (Scopus), along with an i10-index of 61 (Google Scholar).
