Assistant Professor Agriculture
Dr. Md Sabir Ahmed Mondol is a researcher and academician specializing in plant stress physiology, abiotic stress tolerance, oxidative stress biology, and nutritional quality analysis in oilseed crops. He has completed his Ph.D. in Agricultural Biochemistry from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya with research focused on “Terminal heat stress-induced metabolic and molecular changes and its influence on nutritional and oil quality in linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.).” His research expertise encompasses physiological, biochemical, molecular, and metabolomic approaches for understanding crop adaptation under environmental stress conditions.
His specialization includes heat stress biology, antioxidant defense systems, osmolyte accumulation, fatty acid metabolism, phytonutrient profiling, reproductive biology under stress, and postharvest quality analysis. Dr. Mondol is proficient in advanced analytical and molecular techniques including HPLC, GC-MS, AAS, UV–VIS spectrophotometry, qRT-PCR, and multivariate statistical analysis. His research interests also extend to climate-resilient agriculture, nanotechnology applications in agriculture, sustainable food systems, and emerging fruit crops.Dr. Mondol has published extensively in reputed international journals including Trends in Food Science & Technology, Food Control, Frontiers in Plant Science, BMC Plant Biology, and Scientific Reports. He has authored 21 peer-reviewed journal articles, 10 book chapters, and 1 book, with an h-index of 6. Apart from research, he has academic teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya and has participated in multiple international workshops and training programs in genomics, RNA-Seq data analysis, and molecular biology. His scientific contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Best P.G. Thesis Award and Best Paper Presentation Awards at national and international conferences.
