The Department of Biosciences, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the EIACP Centre, Wildlife Institute of India, celebrated World Tiger Beetle Day on 11th November 2025 at the Wildlife Institute of India campus, Dehradun.
The event featured insightful sessions highlighting the ecological significance of Tiger Beetles in environmental assessment, conservation, and sustainability. The celebrations also included interactive quiz sessions and a field visit organized by the EIACP Centre, Wildlife Institute of India, for an enthusiastic group of B.Sc III. (Hons.) Biotechnology students and faculty members — Dr. V. P. Uniyal, Dr. Manu Pant, Saurav Bhatt, and Dr. Manisha Aswal - from the Department of Biosciences.
The day concluded with a special online lecture by Dr. David L. Pearson on "Journeys with Indian Tiger Beetles: From Field Trials to Forgotten Species," which witnessed active participation from over 100 Tiger Beetle enthusiasts across the globe.
