The academic framework is built on a strong foundation of core aerospace disciplines, including aerodynamics, propulsion, aircraft and spacecraft structures, avionics, control systems, and materials science, enabling students to develop a comprehensive understanding of aerospace systems and their applications.

The department emphasizes a balanced integration of theoretical rigor and practical relevance, supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, including Aerodynamics Wind Tunnel Lab, Propulsion Lab, Aircraft Structure Lab, Computational Fluid Dynamics Lab, Advanced Manufacturing Lab, Aero Fluid Mechanics Lab, Aerospace CAD Lab, and Aeromodeling Lab. These offerings ensure that graduates are well-prepared to meet contemporary industry demands.

Dr S. Somanath, Former Secretary Department of Space and Chairman ISRO.

Dr. Tessy Thomas, popularly known as the Missile Woman of India, for her pioneering contributions to missile technology.

Dr. Sudhir Mishra, Former Director of DRDO BrahMos, sharing insights into cutting-edge defense technology.

Dr. Sanjay Mittal, Professor of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kanpur, delivered many sessions on state-of-the-art topics of aerospace engineering.

Dr. Ravi Margasahayam, NASA Global Space Ambassador, delivered a session on International Space Station.

Dr. R. K. Pant, Aerospace Professor at IIT Bombay, delivered a session on reusable hot-air balloons (REHAB).

Mr. Boris Otter, Founder and President of Swiss Space Tourism, Geneva, Switzerland, presenting futuristic visions of space tourism.

Mr. George Salazar, from NASA Johnson Space Center, USA, inspiring students with firsthand experiences in space exploration and human spaceflight systems.

Dr. Anil C. Mathur, Group Director (Retired), Space Applications, highlighting real-world applications of space technologies.

Dr. Bhanu Pant, Outstanding Scientist and Former Group Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, who delivered a lecture on a deeper understanding of ISRO's contribution to the field of space science and technology.

Mr. Roger Hunter, Program Manager at NASA, who delivered a session on Small Spacecraft Technology and Upcoming NASA Missions.

Dr. D. P. Singh, Associate Professor, Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale (ULCO), France, delivered a lecture on Advanced materials for aerospace applications.

The department organized visits for students:

Visit to IIT Roorkee for attending the International Conference on Space for Sustainability and the 6th Indian Planetary Science Conference, March 2025.

Visit to Air Force Station Sarsawa, students gained insights into HAL Chetak, HAL Cheetah, and Mi-17 V5 helicopters, observed maintenance and pre-flight procedures, and interacted with IAF pilots and officers, March 2025.

Visit to Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun, Celebrating National Space Day at IIRS: A Day of Exploration and Achievement, August 2024.

The department organized several events for students including Water rocket competition, Rubber powered glider competition, Hot air balloon workshop, Parachute workshop and competition, Drone workshop, and also an International Conference on IC Engine, Propulsion and Combustion (ICICEPC 1.0) featuring experts and scientists from different leading institutions including ISRO, UCOST, Brahmos, DRDO, DST, CSIR, ADA, HAL, IOCL, DeccaLeap, Dastur energy, Thermax, Volvo, IITs, NITs, etc.
