



The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, organized a guest lecture on “The Jamvant Effect – India Becomes Bharat” on March 24, 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. Deepak Vohra, Ambassador and Special Advisor in Africa. During the lecture, he shared insightful perspectives on India’s civilizational identity, its evolving global standing, and the vision of a self-reliant Bharat. The session was highly interactive, encouraging critical thinking and active participation from students and faculty members.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), is delighted to announce a special guest lecture on 22nd August 2025 by Prof. Varun Sheel, Senior Professor & Head, Planetary Science Division, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad – an autonomous unit of the Department of Space, Government of India. An internationally recognized planetary scientist, Prof. Sheel has made pioneering contributions to the study of planetary atmospheres, including the climates of Earth, Mars, and Venus. He also plays a leading role in India’s upcoming planetary missions and holds key positions in international scientific bodies like COSPAR, ICPAE, and IPSA.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, organized a guest lecture on Indian Launch Vehicle Technology on August 19, 2025, as part of the activities leading up to the celebration of National Space Day.The session was delivered by Sh. Ravi Kumar Varma from the Space Applications Centre, who provided detailed insights into India’s prominent space missions, including Chandrayaan-3 and the Mars Orbiter Mission. He also discussed key launch vehicles such as PSLV and GSLV Mk III, emphasizing their design, reliability, and testing methodologies.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, organized a distinguished lecture on the International Space Station (ISS) on 21 June 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. Ravi Margasahayam, NASA Global Space Ambassador. During the lecture, he highlighted the significant role of space research in addressing global challenges, including advancements in healthcare, climate monitoring, disaster prediction, and the development of sustainable food systems for long-duration space missions.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, organized an educational visit to Sarsawa Air Force Station on March 1, 2025. During the visit, students gained valuable practical exposure to aircraft maintenance practices, flight operations, and airbase management systems. They also interacted with Air Force personnel, which provided insights into operational strategies, organizational structure, and the discipline associated with military aviation.

Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, organized the ICICEPC 1.0 – International Conference on IC Engine, Propulsion, and Combustion from November 8–11, 2024, in collaboration with The Combustion Institute – Indian Section (CIIS).The conference featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. S. Somanath and Dr. V. K. Saraswat, who shared valuable insights on recent advancements in propulsion systems and space technologies. The event also included industry presentations, technical discussions, and research deliberations by experts from academia and industry.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, organized a distinguished lecture on “Advances in Aerospace Technology” on April 13, 2024. The session was delivered by Dr. Tessy Thomas, widely known as the “Missile Woman of India.”During the lecture, she shared valuable insights into innovations in missile systems, strategic defence technologies, and emerging trends in aerospace engineering. She also highlighted her significant contributions to the development of Agni-IV and Agni-V missiles, which have strengthened India’s defence capabilities.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, in collaboration with the Orbit Quest Club, organized a two-day workshop on Reusable Indoor Hot Air Balloon (RIHAB) on February 15–16, 2024. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Rajkumar Pant, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay.The program included a seminar on the fundamental principles of hot air balloons, followed by a hands-on session involving fabrication and flying competition. The workshop provided a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure in the domain of sustainable flight dynamics.
