Biotechnology - about-department

The Department of Biotechnology, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), established in 2008 offers a comprehensive 4 years B. Tech program in Biotechnology with specialization in Sustainable Sciences, Computational Biology, Synthetic Biology alongwith multidisciplinary minors.

Recently, the department has taken initiative to start M.Tech Biotechnology program with effect from Academic year 2026-27 onwards. In addition, the department also offers PhD in Biotechnology.

The department has state of the art laboratories equipped with sophisticated and high end instruments. Our faculty is highly qualified coming from renowned national institutes like IITs, NITs, CSIR labs, IISERs and international universities like University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), University of Manchester (UK) and UCLA.

The department has demonstrated significant research strength through externally funded projects, high-quality publications in reputed journals, conference presentations, patents, and active collaborations with national and international institutions. Faculty members and research scholars are regularly recognized for their scholarly contributions, including best paper and presentation awards at national and international conferences.
