


The students and faculty of the department are also actively involved in research and have received various awards and recognitions.

Our faculty members consistently feature in Stanford’s Top 2% Scientists of the world list. Our department has extensive research funding from eminent funding agencies like DBT, DST, MoEFCC, UCOST, UCB and Ministry of Ayush etc.





Furthermore, the patents from department are also commercialized. An RT PCR Kit (Van Guard) for the detection of Salmonella typhii is one such product developed and commercialized by the department.


Prof. Anita Pandey, Dr. Divakar Sharma, and Dr. Prabhakar Semwal were recognized among the Top 2% Scientists of 2025 by Elsevier and Stanford University, reflecting their global research impact and scholarly excellence.

Prof. (Dr.) Nishant Rai represented the University as a panelist at the National Visioning Conference 2025 on “Envisioning Tomorrow's University: A Transdisciplinary Dialogue on the Future of Education”, contributing to high-level academic discussions on the future of higher education.

Prof. (Dr.) Janhvi Mishra Rawat was honored with the Eminent Scientist of the Year Award 2023 at GPCC-2023, jointly organized by the National Environmental Science Academy and CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, acknowledging her outstanding contributions to environmental and plant sciences.

Prof. (Dr.) Janhvi Mishra Rawat represented the University as an expert at the AYUFARM Certificate Course held at All India Institute of Ayurveda, contributing to training and knowledge dissemination in medicinal plant sciences.

Dr. Pallavi Singh delivered a keynote session during the National Science Day webinar organized by the Veena Gusain Memorial Foundation on the theme “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future”, promoting scientific awareness and outreach.

Dr. Jigisha Anand was conferred with the Women Scientist Award by the Society of Chemical and Synthetic Biology, recognizing her significant contributions to research and scientific advancement at National Conference on Microbial Innovations and Challenges: Oppourtunities for Sustainablity (MICROS 2024).

Dr. Payal Gupta delivered an invited talk on “Microbial Biofilms: Drivers of Antimicrobial Toxicity and Evolution of Clinical Resistance” at the International Toxicology Convention EARTH 2025 held at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, highlighting advances in microbial and clinical research.

Ms. Baby Gargi Mogha (Batch 2021) received the Young Scientist Award at the 20th State Science and Technology Conference 2025 organized by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology, recognizing her research excellence in biotechnology.

Amit Kumar (Batch 2023) was awarded the Best Rapid Oral Presentation Award at the International Conference ICABSB-2025 organized by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and Biotech Research Society of India, demonstrating excellence in scientific communication.

Ms. Rakshi Rawat and Ms. Charu Chauhan (Ph.D. Batch July 2024) were selected for the prestigious Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) semester exchange at National Chin-Yi University of Technology, gaining valuable international research exposure.

Ms. Namini Joshi (Batch 2021) was awarded the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) 2025 under the Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Single Girl Child Fellowship scheme, reflecting academic merit and research potential.

Ms. Bhawana Yadav was awarded the prestigious AICTE Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) 2025, strengthening the department’s research ecosystem and national recognition.

Anshika Singh (Batch 2022–26) secured admission to the M.S. in Biomedical Sciences program at the University of Glasgow and also qualified the prestigious UGC-NET examination, demonstrating outstanding academic achievement.

Madhav Chaudhary (Batch 2022–26) secured admission to the Master’s program in Biotechnology at the University of Edinburgh with a 100% scholarship, marking a significant international academic milestone.

Vidushi Chauhan (Batch 2021–25) secured admission to the M.Tech program in Sustainable Technologies at Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, one of India’s premier institutes.

Aditi Joshi and Akanksha Dhoundiyal (Batch 2022–26) successfully qualified the GATE Examianation 2026, reflecting strong academic preparation and subject proficiency.

Payas Arora, Vidushi Chauhan, Priyansh Kapoor, Aanika Gupta, and Anjali Rawat (B.Tech Biotechnology) qualified the GATE examination, demonstrating the department’s consistent academic excellence.

Kakul Negi (B.Tech Biotechnology) was conferred with third prize at the International Conference on Microbial Innovations for Sustainable Development (MISD 2026), demonstrating active participation in research and scientific dissemination.
