On October 22, 2024, a workshop titled ‘Mental Health Matters’ was organized by SDG-YEC, GEU, and club Shan-Manah of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in association with Humanising Lives.

Conducted in a hybrid format at the CSIT Seminar Hall, Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University, the two-hour event focused on promoting mental health awareness among students and faculty. Esteemed speakers included Dr. Pradeep Mehta (UNDP), Dr. Narpinder Singh (VC, GEU), Mr. Suraj Chand (CPPGG), Dr. Prabha Lama, Dr. Anugrah Lall (SDG-YEC Coordinator), and experts from Humanising Lives including Ms. Ekta Sharma, Ms. Sushree Sahu, Dr. Sakshi Mehrotra, and Ms. Chhavi Kaushik. Key themes included the link between mental and physical health (Dr. Mehta), the role of mindfulness and nutrition (Dr. Singh), the impact of social media (Mr. Chand), and the importance of balance and resilience (Dr. Lama). Expert psychologists addressed relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, self-awareness, and peer support. Activities and presentations helped participants explore their emotional well-being. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks and reflections on prioritizing mental health and seeking support when needed. The session left a lasting impact, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being in academic and personal life.
