Awareness camp on “Diabetes and Well-Being.”
The Department of Biosciences organized a remarkable event on World Diabetes Day with a focus on raising awareness about Type 1 Diabetes and provide free health benefits and to educate attendees about the causes, management, and impact of Type 1 Diabetes.
The event commenced with a facilitation and warm welcome to all the guests, including students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals. The Head of the Department of Biosciences, Prof. (Dr) Manu Pant, delivered an opening address, mentioning the importance of health as a need of the hour in professional as well as personal life, emphasizing the significance of understanding and managing Type 1 Diabetes
After the welcome address, Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra, a renowned Endocrinologist, shared his expertise on Type 1 Diabetes. He provided valuable insights into the disease, its causes, and effective management strategies.
Ms. Swati Singh, delivered a speech on Type -1 Diabetes and lifer style modifications, that what to eat, how to eat, and when to eat, she teaches about a perfect meal plate, and how to maintain our diet in our daily life, she gave a simple formula to all attendees that decrease the carbs in your diet and add fibrous food in daily life, then a diabetic person can able to manage its sugar levels.
The expert talk session and Q&A came to an end by honouring the esteemed speakers with a memento & certificates by the Head of Department, and a Vote of Thanks by the Coordinator of the event, Dr. Deependra Pratap Singh, followed by a group picture with participants of the program.
GEU students as well as staff and faculty participated in the health camp by to getting checked for their height, BP, weight and blood sugar. It shows that due to a busy life schedule, they are unable to focus on their health, so this event gave opportunity to them to get their health checked with proper consultation of an endocrinologist and diabetes educator.

Attendees benefited greatly from the expertise of distinguished speakers, including Dr. Sunil Kumar Mishra and Ms. Shweta Singh, whose sessions enriched the program with evidence-based knowledge and practical guidance. The event served as an effective platform to educate, support, and raise awareness about Type 1 Diabetes, highlighting the critical importance of early detection, continuous care, and informed lifestyle choices. By fostering community engagement and promoting a proactive approach to diabetes management, the program contributed meaningfully toward building a healthier and more informed future for individuals and families alike.
