


Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in collaboration with Departmnt of Biotechnology orgeanised an interactive session on ‘Uttarakhand’s Roadmap for SDG5 (Gender Equality and women’s Empowerment). This event marked the constitution Day of India, wherein Chairperson, State commission for women, Uttarkhand- Ms Kusum Knadwal graced the occasion as chief guest.
She spoke on the state of women in the state and the strategy to deal with issues related to violence agianst women in the state. Students asked questions regarding UCC and the issue of gender as Uttarakhand is the leading state to implement UCC in the country. The session was very interactive and engaging. Head, Humanities – DR Prabha Lama presented a welcome note and Dr Bharti Sharma delivered a vote of thanks.
