Dr. Mayank Bhushan

Associate Professor Biotechnology

Dr. Mayank Bhushan has obtained a B.Tech. degree in Biotechnology in 2010 from SRM University, Chennai, India, and subsequent M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in Nanoscience and Technology from Pondicherry University, Puducherry, India. Following this, he has worked as Assistant Professor (Ad-Hoc) at Department of Nanotechnology, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, India for 7.5 years. At NEHU, he was involved in teaching different theory and laboratory courses to the students enrolled in M.Tech. programme of the department. Apart from this, he was actively pursuing research in the field of nanobiotechnology, energy and environmental nanotechnology and has guided 22 M.Tech. students for their major project work. He also had funded projects from Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. After NEHU, he worked at SIMATS, Saveetha University, Chennai, India, and Department of Biotechnology, NIAMST, NIMS University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India for couple of months. Currently, he is working as Associate Professor at Department of Biotechnology, Graphic Era Deemed to be University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He has authored several journal articles, book chapters, and one book (edited volume), all published by renowned international publishers. Prospective students who are willing to work at the interface of biotechnology and nanotechnology for various applications are welcome to join his research group.

  • Invited talk on “Nanocomposites of transition metal oxides: A promising novel inorganic antibiotic” at the 4th International Caparica Symposium on Nanoparticles/Nanomaterials and Applications 2020 held in Capuchos, Caparica - Portugal, 20-23 January 2020.
