


The Department of Biosciences offers comprehensive academic programs in Biotechnology, Forensic Science, and Bioinformatics, designed to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge, research acumen, and practical expertise.
With its B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs running in the Department of Biotechnology since 2009, the Biosciences department was created to foster bachelor's and master's programs as per the New Education Policy guidelines.


The Department continues to strive with all its programs laying strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, hands-on experience, and field trainings, to prepare the students for careers in research, industry, data analytics, healthcare, and forensic investigations.
The Department of Biosciences working at the cutting edge of scientific research and providing the highest level of mentorship, envisions educating students for their holistic development and preparing them for academics, research and industries.
The Department is actively involved in experiential learning through interdisciplinary activities and cutting-edge research initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goals. The faculty members and students actively participate in national and international events, including conferences, seminars, hands-on training, and educational visits.

Biomonitoring exercises to document the flora, fauna and microflora of campuses and reserves, in association with the Wildlife Institute of India, Government of India.
Community outreach programs by the students of B.Sc. (Hons) Biotechnology and Forensic Science in different villages under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
